Porsche Racers Needed
At this year’s PVGP Historic Races at BeaveRun there will be a special Porsche Marque Race in commeration of Porsche as “Marque of the Year” in conjunction with this being ARPCA’s 50th Buirthday. The race will be open to all drivers with an active PCA, SCCA, POC, NASA, VRG, HSR or IMSA competition license. There aren’t any special “vintage” restrictions on the cars so the field is sure to include some of the latest models and be a real crowd pleaser.
In addition to this special Porsche race there are two regular PVGP race groups for which a Porsche might qualify and be entered… which means that some Porsches could run in three different races and get as much as 5 hours of track time during the PVGP’s races at BeaveRun… all for just $350 (if registered by June 1).
Porsche Eligible Race Groups
Group 2 – Allies (American/British) vs Axis (German/Italian)
This is a new race for 2011 that pits the best American and British cars versus German and Italian cars. With 3 races on Saturday and 2 on Sunday plus a Saturday morning practice session, Porsches would get two full hours of track time! This race has a limited field, applications are reviewed on a first come basis so get your entry in quickly.
Group 5 – BMW/Porsche Club Challenge
This is the traditional race that pits two of the largest and best manufacturer based club racing organizations. There promises to be more Porsches than ever before. With three races on Saturday and two on Sunday plus a Saturday morning practice session you get two full hours of track time! The PVGP and VRG are the sanctioning organizations for this race.
Group 7 – Porsche Marque Race
This special group will not have it’s own practice or qualifying race, instead, this will be the Feature Race on both days. On Saturday it is a 20 minute Feature and on Sunday it is a 30 minute Crown Royal Race. Your best race or qualifying lap (in other groups) on Saturday morning will determine grid position in the Saturday Feature. Sunday grid position is based on Saturday FINISH position. (You can still go race in other groups.) The Feature Races are open to ALL Porsches, from all years that are entered in any group or class at the PVGP/VRG Historic Races at BeaveRun. There will be three trophies awarded in the Crown Royal Feature Race on Sunday: 1st, 2nd and a special trophy. Since this is a race open to ALL Porsches there will be some serious performance differences between cars. Please remember this is a race to show the crowd all of the Porsches, their rich history and their spectacular racing heritage. This is not meant to be a race just to show that a GT2 911 can blow by a 356. The Race Director may determine the format of these Feature races. Feature race is limited to 35 Porsches

Please forward the above link to all your PCA racing friends. There’s no PCA event anywhere on the east coast that weekend so if we get the word out I’m sure they will come our party. We already have 8 Porsche racers committed (including 2 IMSA entries.) Other racers have been waiting to see what develops – now we can tell them!
NOTE: the 2 PVGP Feature Races are limited to the 30 fastest Porsches.
