Porsche Racing at PVGP/BeaveRun
Come to BeaveRun and watch Club Members race… just 30 minutes from Pittsburgh.
As part of the PVGP’s Historic Races at BeaveRun, there is a special Porsche-only race that will have many local club racers competing against drivers from regional and national levels. This will be a real crowd pleaser… watching cars from a range of classic Porsche vintages go full-tilt. Among the early entries from ARPCA are:
- Dottie Bechtol (Porsche 914-6 & Elva Sportsracer)
- John Bechtol (Porsche 914-6 & Zink Formula Super Vee)
- Joe Policastro (IMSA GT3 Cup Car)
- Randy Evans (911 SC Euro)
In addition to this Porsche race there are all of the normal PVGP races involving historic race cars from the past… so you will find vintage British cars, German cars (yes… there are German cars other than Porsche), American “muscle cars”, formula cars, various “specials,” etc.
In addition to the ARPCA drivers entered in the Porsche races, there are a number of members who will be racing in one or more of the PVGP’s other race events, both at BeaveRun and at Schenley Park.
Unlike a lot of racing events, you can mingle among the cars in the paddock to get a close-up view of the race cars, watch all of the car preparation activities and even talk with the drivers.
There are many good viewing areas and you’re free to move among them. Bring a chair or spread a blanket… pack a picnic basket or buy food from a variety of vendors.
There will be a special “German Car” parking area above the Event Center that will include BMW’s and Mercedes’ in addition to Porsches.
If you’re a driver and have a PCA, POC, SCCA, NASA, VRG, HSR or IMSA competition license you can register at this link: Race Registration Form
