  • Over 430 Porsches were on the hill Saturday
  • 1000+ people where served lunch on Saturday by Tambellini’s Catering
  • 102 Porsches participated on the Sunday parade lap
  • Over 500 programs, dash plaques and poster were handed out

George Patterson & Russ Rose

The Kickoff Rallye

Major activities kicked off with the Rallye on Sunday July 10th. Russ Rose (a WXDX personality) and George Patterson (our very own ARPCA Region Vice President) took 1st in the Celebrity category / 2nd Porsche / 5th overall out of 94 entrants. Congratulations to George and Russ.

Hofbräuhaus

Hofbräuhaus Gathering on Thursday

People started to gather around 4:00 PM on Thursday. We ended up having over 70 cars come participate. The Hofbräuhaus set aside a big room for the ARPCA / PVGP crowd. A great time was had by all.

There was drama on Saturday in the Park

Saturday did start out “iffy.” As the ARPCA volunteers began to arrive to prepare for the large influx of Porsche attendees the heavens opened up. It rained hard. This was not the first rain of the weekend. Friday evening there was a strong rain as well. Just after Earl Seiler and his team just completed marking all of the parking areas with lines the rain started. Two weeks of preparations and a full day of work on the golf-course literally washed away. The combination of the Friday evening rains and the Saturday morning rain was enough that the golf course grounds keeper told the PVGP officials that no cars could enter or leave the golf course. If this decision continued there would be no car show.

Porsches as far as the eye can see

After 45 minutes the rain began to slow – then stop. Then the waiting began – Around 10:00 AM the decision was relayed from PVGP to ARPCA – we could move the cars onto the golf course but we would need to get them in place quickly. Cars continued to be placed until all available parking spots were full – well past lunch time. Thanks to John Luff for the great panoramic picture of the Porsches on the hill.

Marque Racing

The Marque racing was quite exciting. We had strong representation from our own region including Dottie Bechtol, Randy Evans and Mike Schindel all running strong. Take a look at the gallery of pictures below

There were a lot of people and activities. Just look through some of the pictures.
