ARPCA Grand Concours at Station Square Recap 2013
Saturday’s Porsche Grand Concours at Station Square was reminiscent of our typical PVPG party in more than one way:
– Temp 81F+… CHECK
– Humidity 75%+ … CHECK
– Partly Sunny with threatening clouds… CHECK
– Fantastically clean Porsches spotlessly shining bright and all gathered in one location – CHECK, CHECK, CHECK!
Before we get much further, a huge thank you is owed to John & Lisa Malobicky who chaired and completely organized a fantastic new event for the club. John & Lisa, new members in 2013 by the way, attended their first business meeting in August and presented a social idea to the club. They already had some specifics nailed down, just wanted to know if there would be sufficient club interest.
Let’s see… a gathering of great cars (with safe parking), very good food (on the Gandy Dancer Patio) and awesome ARPCA people. Yep, do it! But, let’s put on a nice show for the crowds at Station Square since we’re taking over their street…queue Concours Chair Brian… make it a contest.
In a nutshell, over 40 cars and 60 plus club members participated in the this short notice Happy Hour Saturday. Commandeering Station Square Drive, we parked the cars so all could enjoy and then voted for our favorites.
The competition was tough but in the end three iconic cars decisively rose to the top in voting. Concours winners were:
