April [snow] showers bring May flowers, right???  Forget about the past few weeks, spring (and a touch of summer) is coming your way now.  That means driving (and pothole avoidance) season is upon us.  Lots of of activity on the ARPCA calendar ahead with new events.  Start by attending tomorrow night’s business meeting at Auto Palace and much more…


Thursday April 12th  – 7:00PM – Monthly Business Meeting
Attend our regular Monthly Business Meeting which begins promptly at 7:00PM.

 

Tuesday April 24th  – 11:30AM – Porsche Touring Crew Lunch

The Porsche Touring Crew will travel back in time on Tuesday, April 24, for a luncheon at the historic Hotel Saxonburg in Saxonburg, PA.  Plan on arriving at the hotel 11- 11:30 am.  Select your favorite lunch fare off the menu and enjoy the company of fellow ARPCA members.  No cost for event; however, attendees pay for their own lunch.  Guests are always welcome. Registration for this event is through MotorsportsReg (MSR) and closes 4.21

Saturday May 19th  – 7:30AM – Porsche at the Lot – ** NEW EVENT **

Start your engines and begin your Saturday with fellow ARPCA members for an upscale cars-n-coffee event at the Lot at Edgewater restaurant in Oakmont, Pa.

The Lot at Edgewater is a full-service restaurant that offers a wide menu selection including traditional favorites like waffles, bacon and sausage, as well as specialties such as avocado toast with pepper jam and a fried egg.  There is a full-service coffee bar with a large assortment of pastries and a bar featuring brunch cocktails, alcoholic milkshakes, and craft beers.

This is the first of several Porsche at the Lot this year.  No cost for event and registration is not necessary.  Just show up with your favorite P-car and share some coffee, breakfast and stories with fellow ARPCA members.

Tuesday May 22nd  – 11:30AM – Porsche Touring Crew Lunch

ARPCA’s Porsche Touring Crew is visiting one of the area’s hottest Mexican restaurants, Madero Cantina on William Penn Highway (Rt. 22) in Murrysville.  Madero Cantina owner David Montanez honed his skills in various restaurants in Cancun and promises a mouth-watering selection of authentic Mexican and non-Mexican lunch items. Attendees will choose from a complete menu, including filet mango and mahi mahi tacos, Akumal and Xel-Ha burritos and a variety of sopes and enchiladas. Plan on arriving at the hotel 11- 11:30 am.  Select your favorite lunch fare off the menu and enjoy the company of fellow ARPCA members.  No cost for event; attendees pay for their own lunch.  Guests are always welcome. Saturday June 16th  –  ARPCA 13th Annual Car Control Clinic – JUST ANNOUNCED!

The PERFECT opportunity to learn more about you and your car in a controlled environment.  We will be using the Vehicle Dynamic Area (VDA- six plus acres of pavement) to provide an exhilarating educational experience!  The Car Control Clinic is hands-on, in-car training combined with classroom discussion of vehicle and human dynamics. Four hours of in-car instruction is scheduled for participants to practice the driving exercises introduced in the classroom. The goal is to introduce participants to the skills and sensations associated with controlling a motor vehicle during accident avoidance, defensive driving maneuvers and more!

2018 Driver Education Series – REGISTRATION OPEN – DONT’ DELAY!

The Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America is excited to open our DE schedule for 2018. We will be hosting three (3) High Performance Drivers Education (DE) events this year.  Registration now open.

Please note some changes for the 2018 season.

  • Payment – Your credit card will be charged upon completion of your registration. Review the 2018 cancellation policy on event posting for additional details.
  • Run Groups – We have eliminated one run group to allow for more track time. We published a tentative Watkins Glen schedule. Each schedule will be finalized as we get closer to event.
  • Longer Sessions – by eliminating a run group we increased your track time every session!
