e-Rundschau: Last Call – Grand Concours at Station Square

ARPCA.com

Dear {first-name},

The wet dog days of August have been upon us but skies will clear by end of week for another spectacular ARPCA Grand Concours event at Station Square on Saturday. PLUS, AX #2 and the last DE of 2018, Mid-Ohio, are quickly approaching.  Don’t miss out on any of these great upcoming events the next few weeks.

Saturday August 18th – Grand Concours at Station Square

Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America is once again hosting a People’s Choice Topside Concours, Car Show and Social. This is the sixth year for this increasingly popular event.

Station Square will close West Station Square Drive for exclusive Porsche parking. The display area will begin in front of the Grand Concours restaurant (just below the Smithfield Street Bridge) and occupy the street westward toward the Hard Rock Café. Space is limited to 50 vehicles. Security guards will be present to monitor the car display. After perusing through the Porsches, make sure to cast your ballot for your favorite Porsche (other than your own of course). The Club will then retire to the Gandy Dancer patio for a Happy Hour social gathering including appetizers (meals and drinks are self pay). “People’s Choice” trophies will be awarded for the top 3 cars.

For those who would like to stay for dinner following the Gandy Dancer social hour, The Grand Concourse will validate 2 hours free parking in the secure valet lot – PIY (Park-It-Yourself) too!

For Insurance Purposes All vehicles MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED by Aug 15!

Register on MSR by Aug 15 – 11:59PM

Saturday August 25th – AutoCross #2 – 8:00AM

Autocross (AX) gives you the opportunity to test yourself and develop your own skill set, as well as learn the limits of your vehicle in a safe and controlled environment. All events are based around a course made of traffic cones and each lap timed for every driver. Autocross events seldom see speeds in excess of 60 mph and there is no “wheel to wheel” competition.

AX is one of, if not THE safest and most INEXPENSIVE way to participate in MotorSports today!

Saturday Aug 25th  – Porsche at the Lot – 7:30AM

Start your engines and begin your Saturday with fellow ARPCA members for an upscale cars-n-coffee event at the Lot at Edgewater restaurant in Oakmont, Pa.

The Lot at Edgewater is a full-service restaurant that offers a wide menu selection including traditional favorites like waffles, bacon and sausage, as well as specialties such as avocado toast with pepper jam and a fried egg.  There is a full-service coffee bar with a large assortment of pastries and a bar featuring brunch cocktails, alcoholic milkshakes, and craft beers.

This is the forth of several Porsche at the Lot this year.  No cost for event and registration is not necessary.  Just show up with your favorite P-car and share some coffee, breakfast and stories with fellow ARPCA members.

Tuesday August 28th – Porsche Touring Crew Lunch – 11:30AM

Come join ARPCA’s Porsche Touring Crew as they travel south to the historic Summit Inn.

The Summit Inn is one of the last remaining grand porch hotels in America.  The Summit Hotel was first opened to the public in 1907.  Due to its excellent facilities, it’s location on Chestnut Ridge, and the beautiful views, the resort was an immediate success.  The Inn has an interesting history and has been owned and managed by the same family for three generations.  Preserving tradition, service, and friendliness are foremost for the guests.  The staff is well-versed in the tradition of the great hotels. With this in mind, the Summit Inn Resort is proud of its past and looks forward to the next century as the place “where guests still meet like yesterday’s elite.”

The Porsche Touring Crew is an informal group that hosts luncheon events and is always looking to add ARPCA members and their guests. The event is no cost; however, attendees must pay for their own lunch. Plan on arriving at around 11:30 am.

Registration closes on August 20.
