Early August 2023

A Message From the Executive Board:

We hope that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the PVGP events and our HPDE and Cookout this past weekend.   It was great to see hundreds of our members at both events. Thank you to all the organizers and on-the-ground workers for 2 outstanding back-to-back weekends of car shows, great food, fun driving, and social time. As we stated at the PVGP Saturday auctions, the winner of the 2023 PCA Boxster or Cayman GTS was in our region.  We announced the winner as planned at the Pitt Race cookout following the HPDE session.  Congratulations to Matt and Jean Wimer – they purchased the winning PCA National Raffle ticket this year!

Hope to see you all soon,

Gus, Drake, Tim, Tom, and Ed

If you’re looking for more opportunities to spend time with your favorite APRCA Members, we have a number of upcoming opportunities including Porsche at the Lot this coming Saturday.  Then there’s Pittsburgh Cars and Coffee, the Porsche Touring Crew at Atria’s, and rounding out August is the Porsche Grand Concourse at Station Square.  Links to event details and registration below.

The Lot has attractive breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, and the adjoining cigar bar features products from Oakmont’s Smoke n’ Guns shop.

The venue has a large parking lot and an outside covered patio that overlooks the parking area. Parking space for Porsches has been reserved along the Allegheny Avenue (Railroad Side) of the restaurant.

Pittsburgh Cars and Coffee: – August 12th

From: https://pghcnc.com/about/

“Started in 2010, Pittsburgh Cars ‘N’ Coffee is a non-profit social club focusing on exotic and modern performance automobile enthusiasts in Western Pennsylvania. We hold bi-weekly meets at Generoasta Coffee in Warrendale as well as other shows and charity events throughout the year.”

From: https://pghcnc.com/calendar/

“Pittsburgh Cars ‘N’ Coffee will have Porsche as the featured vehicle for our August 12th meet.  The main parking area will be completely reserved for Porsche-only vehicles.  We usually have well over 100 Porsches in attendance for this event. You are welcome to bring your non-Porsche sports cars but ask that you do not park in the main coned-off area.  We appreciate everyone’s cooperation so that we may park the featured vehicles together.”

Porsche Grand Concourse at Station Square – August 26th

Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America is once again hosting a People’s Choice Car Show and Social at Station Square. This is the ninth year of this Porsche-Only event.

Station Square will close West Station Square Drive for exclusive Porsche parking. The display area will begin in front of the Grand Concourse restaurant (just below the Smithfield Street Bridge) and occupy the street westward toward the Hard Rock Café. Space is limited to 50 vehicles. Security guards will be present to monitor the car display. After perusing through the Porsches, make sure to cast your ballot for your favorite Porsche (other than your own, of course).  The Club social is hosted on the Gandy Dancer patio.  Members will be treated to an extensive lunch buffet featuring Lemon Chicken, Vegetable Ravioli, Martha’s Vineyard Salad, desserts, coffee, and tea.  (Alcoholic drinks are self-pay).  “People’s Choice” trophies will be awarded to the top 3 cars.

Member Image Submissions

Click Here or use the “Member Submissions” link in the menu at the top of the ARPCA  homepage.

There’s a rumor there might be a large multi-day event involving cars in the near future, maybe even some Porsches.  It would be great to have images of ARPCA members enjoying the PVGP. Thank you all in advance!
