Greetings members of the ARPCA, Porsche has announced an electric minivan to join the 2024 line-up with units available for delivery later this year. Yes, you read that correctly. From Jalopink.com, “The minivan’s cabin fits six people, and is completely unlike those of the company’s sports cars… The minivan’s cabin is what Porsche’s head of interior design, Markus Auerbach, calls an ‘area that invites relaxation, offering alternative seating positions for talking, working, and relaxing,’“ just what you’ve all been asking for, right? APRIL FOOLS! Porsche did develop an EV Minivan and the link above goes to an actual 2021 article about it but, it is not coming to a dealership near you. You’ll just have to resign yourselves to the standard offerings of high-performance coupes, sedans, and SUV’s. But seriously, below you’ll find write-ups and links for upcoming events in April and May, 2024. | New Policy on Walk In attendance at ARPCA events and Late Charge
We have evolved to a point where most of our functions now provide for advance registration and payment through the Club electronic registration portal, MSR. This has allowed for better planning of our events and for more accurate budgeting for food and Club swag. Nevertheless, we have seen on occasion members or their guests who have not registered in advance but who attend our functions. The Club may or may not recover the registration fee from those members, and this can cause shortage issues with food and swag. In an effort to further bolster our advance MSR registration process for Club functions, which also includes a registration cut-off date, the Club is now going to impose automatic late charges and event fees on any member (including for an unregistered guest) who attends an event without having first registered and paid. ARPCA reserves the right to automatically “Back-Charge” the member’s credit account via MSR to cover the member’s attendance and/or the attendance of the member’s guest. The member will be assessed the full registration fee for the event, PLUS an Administrative Late Fee equal to the lesser of $25 or 30% of the full event charge, per person. These charges will be processed automatically through MSR, or in the case where the member does not maintain an active MSR account, then via personal check payable to ARPCA within 15 days after the event. Failure to pay may result in the member’s restriction to attend future ARPCA events. Any member who hereafter registers and/or attends Club events acknowledges that s/he understands and agrees to these charges and rules. If a member does not agree to these charges and rules, the member shall not register or attend any events. The full Official Policy, adopted at our January 11, 2024 Board meeting, is set forth here.  Women of ARPCA – Treasure House Shopping Trip – April 17th
Our gathering in April is at Treasure House Fashions. This is a nonprofit quality women’s resale shop, supporting over 60 agencies in the greater Pittsburgh area. We are asking for a $10 registration fee via MSR, to present to Treasure House as a donation. This is a shopping event; they have a great selection of business, casual, and formal clothing plus sleepwear, shoes, purses, jewelry. Something for everyone. Please, do not bring any articles to donate, we are coming to shop. We will provide light refreshments, come whenever, bring a friend! Porsche Touring Crew – Sharky’s Cafe – April 23rd
Join the Porsche Touring Crew for lunch at Sharky’s Cafe, Latrobe, PA – Steeler training camp’s favorite venue. Those attending may want to continue after lunch to drive some of the back roads of western PA. The Porsche Touring Crew is an ARPCA social group, and is open to both ARPCA members and guests. In keeping with our goal raising money for charity, we will be passing the oil can to collect a voluntary cash contribution to this year’s charity Tunnel2Towers Foundation |

 Women of ARPCA – Wine Tasting at SPiLL the Wine Bar – May 15th
SPiLL the Wine Bar, located on Liberty Avenue. The Wine Bar is a wine connoisseur’s paradise right here in Pittsburgh, PA. They offer a wonderful selection of flavorful white and red wines, all available for tastings and purchase by the glass, bottle, or case. “You will never leave with a wine you don’t love, because we encourage you to do a tasting before you take it home.” We will provide heavy appetizers. Tastings are offered free of charge; wine by the glass, bottle or case will be your expense. MSR registration will be required and forthcoming.

 Porsche Touring Crew – Iron Bridge Inn – May 28th
This May the Porsche Touring Crew heading north to Mercer, PA. For the first time ever we will lunch at the Iron Bridge Inn, one of eight Springfield restaurant locations. Sign up early if you plan to attend this lunch. Due to the size of the restaurant, we have a firm limit of 26 for lunch. Additionally, with restrictions they impose, we are going to order on arrival from a limited lunch menu. The details are yet to be worked out on the menu and it depends on what is on the spring lunch menu. We do expect to have offerings of beef, fish, and salad(s). They do not allow separate checks for larger groups, so we will be charging $25.00 when registering. The charge covers the meal, gratuity, and tax and includes a non-alcoholic drink. They will have an open cash bar. We will be passing the “oil can” to collect a contribution to support our 2024 charity, Tunnel2Towers Foundation. |

 Rundschau Cover Photo ContestThe Rundschau Cover Photo Contest is back! Submissions must be at least 1 megapixel, well exposed, in focus, and have subject matter related to Porsche, ARPCA or ARPCA Members. Selected photo will appear on cover of Rundschau. If a child appears in a photograph, permission from the child’s parent to use image must accompany photo.

Rundschau’s member-only classified ad section, The Mart, is now available under its own tab on ARPCA.com. To place a listing, send the information, including a 1 megapixel or higher photo of the item to be listed to editor@arpca.com. The ad will appear in the next issue of Rundschau, but should appear on the website within a week. There will be some lag between notification and de-listing so please notify the editor as soon as an item is no longer for sale.
