Esteemed Members of the ARPCA,

The 2024 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is fast approaching its finish this coming weekend at Schenley Park. I hope you have had a chance to participate in some of the excellent events and opportunities before the checkered flag is waved. The events grid currently reflects only the remaining events for the PVGP. If you require a full listing of events, it can still be found on ARPCA.com on the main page and under the PVGP tab in the menu at the top of the page.

Regular ARPCA monthly meetings are slated to resume in September with a meeting on the evening of the 5th at Porsche Pittsburgh. If you haven’t joined everyone for a lovely brunch at The Lot, the monthly meet-ups run until October weather permitting. There’s still time to stop by. The Porsche Touring crew is slated to visit Wexford for a stop at the Walnut Grill and Dutch’s in Maryland in the near future. Details and links below.

Driver Registration Sat/Sun: $450
- Register on/before May 31, 2024 save $50
Instructor Sat/Sun: $100 (driving)
Friday Lapping Day: $225
- (approval required – MUST include Sat/Sun registration)
Garages: $150 pull-thru, $200 non-pull-thru (closed end)

ARPCA 2024 track season registration is now live at: arpca.motorpsortreg.com. There is one remaining HPDE weekend (Friday Solo Lapping if eligible, Sat & Sun Instructed HPDE)

Das Herbstfahrt 2024

(The Autumn Ride)
October 12, 2024

Well, believe it or not, we are already moving into fall and it looks like it’s time for Das Herbstfahrt! Our fall leaf tour will be headed east of Pittsburgh this year, starting out in Latrobe. You’ll then be headed out to enjoy the winding roads of the Laurel Highlands and up through Forbes State Forest, Prince Gallitzin, heading further north, playing tag with the west branch of the Susquehanna River and maybe even stopping in to see Phil in Punxsutawney before heading back south to finally ending with dinner in eastern Pittsburgh. The venue for dinner is yet to be determined, but will be announced in the next Rundschau.

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix – July 21st to August 4th

Plan to attend the 42nd annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix with ARPCA. Join hundreds of your fellow club members, guests from other regions, and friends as we gather on “Porsche Field” in Schenley Park to enjoy fine automotive culture, vintage races and the camaraderie that defines PVGP weekend. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is our club’s largest fundraiser of the year with a portion of net proceeds donated through the PVGP charity to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh, the Allegheny Valley School, and other ARPCA – approved nonprofit organizations.

Porsche at the Lot – August 17th

Start your weekend at the Lot at Edgewater. The Lot is a full-service restaurant that offers a wide menu selection including old favorites like Belgian waffles, house-cured bacon steak, made-to-order omelets as well as specialties such as avocado toast with pepper jam and a fried egg. Shine up your favorite Porsche, come to the Lot, and enjoy some time with your favorite ARPCA members.

Porsche Touring Crew – Walnut Grill (Wexford Location) – August 27th

We are happy to have the August lunch at the Wexford Walnut Grill. Join us for the same good food and service we expect at all our lunches.

Register on MSR in advance so we can let the restaurant properly plan for us. Come early and look for the Porsche vehicles in the parking lot and gather around the cars for a time of sharing before lunch which will be served at noon.

Porsche Touring Crew – Dutch’s at Silver Tree – September 24th

Join the Porsche Touring Crew for a beautiful fall drive to the Oakland, MD. Luncheon attendees will convene at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Lunch will be served at noon.

The Porsche Touring Crew is an ARPCA social group, and is open to both ARPCA members and guests. Meals are not billed in advance, attendees pay for their own lunch at the event

We will collect for our 2024 charity, Tunnel to Towers, with a contribution at the event. Non club members are welcome as guests. Registration for this event is through MotorsportsReg.com (MSR).

Rundschau Cover Photo Contest

The Rundschau Cover Photo Contest is back! Submissions must be at least 1 megapixel, well exposed, in focus, and have subject matter related to Porsche, ARPCA or ARPCA Members. Selected photo will appear on cover of Rundschau. If a child appears in a photograph, permission from the child’s parent to use image must accompany photo.

To place a listing, send the information, including a 1 megapixel or higher photo of the item to be listed to editor@arpca.com. The ad will appear in the next issue of Rundschau, but should appear on the website within a week. There will be some lag between notification and de-listing so please notify the editor as soon as an item is no longer for sale. You should also email the editor each month if you wish to have your listing continue.
