I have always had a soft spot for the use of modern technology in updating almost anything but especially cars. I remember in the 90’s watching TV mechanics adding disc brakes and modern air suspension to an old Dodge. While there’s immense value in restoring your ride to original spec, you can’t help but wonder how far things can be advanced – which is why I found the following so interesting. Hungary’s KAMM, a company dedicated to restoring and modernizing 1960s Porsche 912s, has just unveiled the 912c 60th Edition, a restomodded version of the Porsche 912, celebrating six decades of the iconic sports car. The 912c 60th Edition is lightweight, weighing under 1,600 pounds, thanks to its carbon-fiber body panels. It retains the original flat-4 engine, with an option for upgrades, and features modern amenities like a Bluetooth audio system, wireless phone charger, and air conditioning. The car celebrates the 912’s legacy and KAMM’s passion for its design, with production taking place at the company’s Budapest headquarters. The article can be found here, with some great pictures. **Updated** Women of ARPCA – Driving Academy – March 16th
 Pitt Race Turn 7 This is a half-day training session tailored for new and experienced drivers. The safe driving clinic is designed to provide drivers with hands-on experience that could be the difference between life and death. Prepare to tackle real-world scenarios that demand well-practiced reactionary responses, including emergency braking, reaction braking, swerve-to-avoid maneuvers, and reversing techniques. You are encouraged to use your own car but for a fee, you can use a car provided by Pitt Race, a 2018 BMW 5 Series. |
 Women of ARPCA – Meet & Greet at Sewickley Porsche Store – March 19th
This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet and mingle with women who either own a Porsche or love someone who does. Sewickley Porsche owner KC and his staff will provide us with food, ambiance and an opportunity to discuss the changing dynamics in the Porsche world. |
Porsche Touring Crew – The Iron Bridge – March 25th
The Porsche Touring Crew is headed north in March to an exceptional restaurant in Mercer PA, The Iron Bridge. Part of the Springfield Group of restaurants, The Iron Bridge offers an excellent menu from sandwiches to filets! Great sides and wonderful fattening but scrumptious desserts. Approximately an hour drive from where I’m sitting in Mt Lebanon, it will give us a chance to relearn how to use all the gizmos on our P cars and maybe have some pleasant conversation. The manager, Frank, was very welcoming and gave us an open menu and individual checks. |
| ARPCA – Only Air-Cooled Trip April 3rd – April 8th
Air-Cooled (Non-PCA) trip to North Carolina, driving numerous back roads, as well as, Tail of the Dragon. Event duration will be 5 days. We typically exceed 1,000+ miles on the trip. Lodging is at the Fontana Village, North Carolina. Contact Kevin Rhule (krkrhule@gmail.com) for details. |

Porsche Touring Crew – April 22nd
Visiting the Crane Room in Mercer We begin the spring driving by getting Porsche cars that were stored for the winter unplugged from the trickle charger, uncovered, and otherwise ready for driving daily. In April the Touring Crew offers the chance to drive north to Mercer, PA. The Crane Room area is flanked by a bar featuring a selection of 35 beers and private dining. There is a back deck that we might use depending on the weather. This year again we plan to continue the voluntary charity contribution by putting your contribution into the “oil” can. The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank is the charity for all of 2025 PTC events and is a repeat of a previous selection. |
