Greetings and Salutations, Coming Soon: Drone assisted Porsche 911’s! Sounds crazy? It’s not as far fetched as you might think. According to autoblog.com, Porsche has filed for a patent that highlights its ongoing dedication to innovation. The concept proposes using a drone flying ahead of the car to project the ideal driving line directly onto the track, similar to racing video games but without in-car displays or headsets. The system would adapt in real time to driver behavior, vehicle capability, and track conditions, helping both novice and experienced drivers improve performance. However, significant technical and practical obstacles make production unlikely in the near term. Hope springs eternal, I can’t wait until we post the first Porsche driving assist drones on The Mart, “Low flight time, new laser projector installed last race season, fast charger included…” Meanwhile, in the much nearer future, the ARPCA calendar is populating fast. From Porsche Touring Crew luncheons in varied and interesting venues and monthly meetings, to the ARPCA Women’s dynamic gatherings and opportunities, and finally the recently announced Mid-Winter Party, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Porsche Touring Crew – Franco’s Trattoria – January 27th Join the Porsche Touring Crew at Franco’s Trattoria for lunch on January 27th at 1:00 pm. Luncheon attendees will gather after 12:30 pm on Tuesday, January 27th, for lunch, which will be served at 1:00 pm. The Porsche Touring Crew is an ARPCA social group and is open to both ARPCA members and guests. Attendees pay for their lunch on separate checks at the event.

Porsche Touring Crew – Hartwood Restaurant – February 24th Luncheon attendees will gather at the Hartwood Restaurant and Whisper’s Bar at 11:30 am on Tuesday, February 24th. The Porsche Touring Crew is an ARPCA social group and is open to both ARPCA members and guests. The meal is not prepaid; attendees pay for their own lunch the day of the event. There will be a voluntary charity donation collection for the “Always Smiling” charity. They spread joy to those with disabilities. |

ARPCA Women – The Bocce House – February 25th Join us at The Bocce House of Pittsburgh for a night of Bocce playing. Whether you are a competitive player or just want to enjoy a fun game with friends. We will be providing light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages. |

2026 ARPCA Mid-Winter Party – February 28th
Shake off winter blues at the ARPCA Mid-Winter Party, hosted at Rosedale Technical College’s state-of-the-art facility. Attendees can enjoy guided tours led by college representatives and explore a variety of automotive exhibits that hint at the approaching driving season. The ARPCA Women’s Group will also present donations supporting the Female Automotive Technician Scholarship. The evening features plenty of food and drinks, including hors d’oeuvres, pizza, salads, wine, beer, and soft drinks, along with lively car conversations. |

 Rundschau Cover Photo Contest
The Rundschau Cover Photo Contest is back! Submissions must be at least 1 megapixel, well exposed, in focus, and have subject matter related to Porsche, ARPCA or ARPCA Members. Selected photo will appear on cover of Rundschau. If a child appears in a photograph, permission from the child’s parent to use image must accompany photo.

Rundschau’s member-only classified ad section, The Mart, is now available under its own tab on ARPCA.com. To place a listing, send the information, including a 1 megapixel or higher photo of the item to be listed to editor@arpca.com. The ad will appear in the next issue of Rundschau, but should appear on the website within a week. There will be some lag between notification and de-listing so please notify the editor as soon as an item is no longer for sale.
