Early October 2026

Greetings and Salutations,

There’s something about autumn that makes driving even more enjoyable. Cooler temperatures, crisp air, and scenery awash with brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows make for the best excuse to take the long way home. Luckily for the ARPCA we really don’t have to look very far for spectacular fall colors and vistas.  If you’re of a mind to, you can keep an eye on Mother Nature’s progress with the Explore Fall Foliage Map and the Pennsylvania Fall Foliage Map. For Pennsylvania, peak color is expected near the end of October. Hopefully, this allows enough lead time to start planning scenic drives, maybe finding a winding lane or two, and enjoying autumn from behind the wheel of your favorite Porsche. After all, leaves are meant to be admired, and somewhat less enjoyably raked.  But, what better way to enjoy Fall than with the thrum of a finely engineered German accompanying track.

For those not keen on charting their own course into the wilds of fall there are plenty of events to join. The ARPCA Monthly Meeting takes place October 8th at Porsche Pittsburgh, followed by the October 12th Columbus Day Tour & Dinner at Narcisi Winery with our friends from the Audi Club. Members can choose from an all-day drive to Kinzua Dam or a half-day tour west of Clarion, with both routes finishing at the car show and dinner. On October 21st, Women of ARPCA hosts “Pilates Plus at Porsche Pittsburgh,” featuring an introductory class, goodies, hors d’oeuvres, and an after-class cocktail, please note: it’s a bring-a-friend event.  To round out the month, the Porsche Touring Crew embarks on a scenic journey to the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg for meal and socializing.

In November the action continues with the newly added Day of the Dead Run on November 1st, a spirited 200-mile, four-plus-hour drive with more details to come. In what looks to be the best kind of busy, we have monthly meeting on November 12th slated to occur at Dent Repair Now in Canonsburg.  The ARPCA Holiday Party is November 13th, and Women of ARPCA closes out the run on November 15th with Situational Comprehension event at Keystone Shooting Center, focusing on awareness, de-escalation, prevention, and practical ways to respond to potentially dangerous situations.

Lots to do, lots to see, and many to share with,

Shawn Cressler – Web Support. Sharon Lunney – Newsletter Editor.
