Whats New:

2011 Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio

It’s fitting that the 50th Season of Racing in Mid-Ohio history begins with a series that celebrates the past like the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association.  Joining SVRA on track this summer will be The Cayman Interseries, a “spec series” featuring the Porsche Cayman S painted in car liveries identical to the famous Porsches throughout history. The Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio will celebrate Porsche as Featured Marque during the season’s first race weekend on June 24-26.

There is an ARPCA contigent who will be attending the event, so here is  yet another opportunity for a great road trip – approximately two and a half hours from Pittsburgh. Plus you could assist us with our efforts to “Place 1000 on the Hill”.   PORSCHE will be the marque this year so it will be a great opportunity to meet Porsche owners from other regions. There will be a Porsche corral, so it should be easy enough to “spread the word” about our 50th anniversary/PVGP marque of the year celebration.

In addition to everything else, there is a free drive your own car Parade lap, so that you can experience first hand this famous racing facility. The paddock and pits are open, so you can be next to some very famous and vintage race cars.

  • *  The entry feel is very reasonable — $25 for the weekend (Fri, Sat. Sun.).

Business Meetings

Everybody is welcome to attend the monthly ARPCA Business Meeting… they’re pretty casual meetings with some limited snacks and beverages provided by the Club.  Emphasis is upon the events and programs conducted by ARPCA and fresh inputs are always welcome.  Please attend and discover for yourself how much fun a business meeting can be.

Our business meetings are typically scheduled on the 2nd Thursday of each month.  Though our local Porsche dealerships (specifically Sewickley Porsche) have a standing invitation we will also move the meetings to member’s homes – particularly for summer and holiday parties.  The agenda and meeting minutes will be posted here on the site.  Please see the calendar for specific dates and details.

Wine & Shine at La Casa Narcisi Winery

ARPCA will be hosting a gathering at Narcisi Winery from Noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th.

Narcisi has built a new outdoor covered pavilion that we will be using so plan on attending rain or shine.
🙂  There is no charge to attend this event
🙂  Park your Porsche on the grass for an informal display.
🙂  The Club will be providing light refreshments and wine is available for purchase from the winery.
🙂  Visit the winery’s tasting room for tastings and to purchase wine accessories and gift items.
🙂  Note: Due to PA state law, no outside alcohol (i.e., not purchased at Narcisi Winery) is permitted.
🙂  This is always a fun event and a great opportunity to see all your Porsche friends.

Please RSVP no later than June 11th so that we can plan refreshments appropriately.   To RSVP just email how many are coming to Suzy Snyder at snyderems@comcast.net or Judi Seiler at jude424@verizon.net.
