December is the PTC holiday party. It is the final event in 2023 for the Touring Crew. We will meet at the renovated Kaufman Tavern dining room. Lunch will not be our usual forth Tuesday, but the first Tuesday in December, the 5th, at the Kaufman Tavern in Zelienople with our Porsche friends gathering starting at 11:00 for early arrivers and lunch served at noon. Note that parking is behind the Kaufman Tavern in a public lot and we don’t expect any issues getting parking. Entrance to the tavern is off the parking lot or from the front of the building off Main Street.
The Kaufman Hotel, then House and now Tavern has been a landmark in Zelienople since 1902. It was the restaurant dining room for the Kaufman Hotel until 1920. It was briefly converted to serve as housing for workers for a local company. In 1924 it was again converted to a hotel after modernizations and renovations. It was a popular stop for people going between Pittsburgh and Erie. In 1974 it was renamed the Kaufman House with 4 dining rooms, Coffee shop and banquet room. In recent years it was closed and now reopened as the tavern with a fine dining menu.
Registration is required for this event with prepaid lunch billed. The MSR charge includes lunch drinks (non-alcohol), tax, gratuity, MSR fees, and a $5.00 charity contribution on MSR.
