Porsche Touring Crew Closes 2020;
Slates Imaginary Road Trip to Casablanca
It’s a wrap!
ARPCA classic film buffs will never forget the climactic airport scene in Humphrey Bogart’s “Casablanca,” when an unlikely alliance was forged between Bogart’s character and his nemesis, Claude Rains’ corrupt French police captain.
In like manner, the Touring Crew plans to wrap-up 2020 by bringing together old and new friends for a December 1st feast at DeNunzio’s Chophouse and Sinatra Bar, overlooking the main runway at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.
Although the DeNunzio restaurant name is only a bit more than half the age of the movie, Ron DeNunzio learned his family’s recipes and how to please diners at an early age. At the Chophouse, Ronnie’s Executive Chef Joe Weaver (American Culinary Federation, Laurel Highlands Chapter, 2019 Chef of the Year) serves up a complete variety of Italian and seafood favorites, punctuated by the restaurant’s famous chopped salad and unique flat bread pizzas. In addition, the more adventurous or holiday-oriented may not be able to resist a take-home order of Mrs. D’s Chocolate or White Bavarian Cake, DeNunzio’s homemade Almond Torte or Tiramisu.
Registration for this event is limited, so please join us by signing-up at Motorsportreg.com. We plan to gather at DeNunzio’s, Latrobe, PA, Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, between 11:00 and 11:30 – then adjourn to our tables just before Noon. For more information contact Tom Mueller, or Wayne Desbrow.
All ARPCA members and their guests are invited to attend PTC-sponsored events, and there is no charge, outside of individual meals. …And “The Crew” is now looking for new and interesting driving and dining venues in the Region for 2021!
Note: As Time Goes By… Even a few movie aficionados may have forgotten the complete, timeless Bogart-Rains quote:
“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
As the health and well-being of all members is of utmost importance, face coverings and social distancing will be required, outside and indoors, except when PTCr’s are seated at their tables. DeNunzio’s Chophouse observes all safety and health requirements mandated by Westmoreland County.
