Touring Crew Slates Summer Soiree
Floats Luncheon and Cruise Plans
All hands on deck! The Porsche Touring Crew has announced plans for a luncheon and river cruise that — conditions permitting — will launch July 28.
ARPCA members and their guests will take a leisurely summer drive to Wellsburg, West Virginia, and meet at The Crooked Dock restaurant’s 125-seat deck. The Dock has been a casual destination eatery for more than 25 years, partly because of its location and direct view of the Ohio River and surrounding cliffs. The restaurant features a wide variety of burgers, chicken, hoagies and other seasonal favorites, but also offers a number of heart-smart salads and other healthy choices. The Dock’s owners have promised strict observance of diner spacing and social distancing on the open-air seating deck.
As an optional treat, the group will then re-locate to a nearby launch site and board a 60-foot houseboat (large, open decks) for a scenic, one-hour tour, allowing members to experience the “Big Ohio” from a unique vantage point. Jon Merriweather and his wife Jeannette, recent PTC members who reside in Wellsburg, have arranged for the cruise. Jon is a boating business owner, inventor and pilot, and knows “almost every bend in the river.” Once again, participants will be asked to observe social distancing procedures, and cruisers will be limited according to the by the size and layout of the boat.
Neither the luncheon nor water excursion carry any cost, but registration is required for this event. Please use the button below to sign up! The Crooked Dock is located at 30 12th St, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
Participants will convene at the restaurant between 11:00 and 11:30 am and move into restaurant around Noon.
The Porsche Touring Crew is an informal and inclusive group within ARPCA that hosts luncheons and other events. PTC enjoys welcoming new ARPCA members and their guests and is always looking for members’ suggestions and “reviews” on interesting driving and lunch venues. For more information on the Wellsburg trip and future PTC events, contact Tom Mueller (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Wayne Desbrow (email@example.com).
The health and well-being of all ARPCA members and their guests is always of utmost importance to both the PTC and ARPCA, and both Tom and Wayne welcome any comments and suggestions as they plan the PTC program.
