PTC To Heed Twain’s Advice
On September Trip to Nevillewood
Mark Twain, the celebrated American author, entrepreneur and humorist, once quipped, “Golf is a good walk spoiled.”
Porsche Touring Crew members plan to take that warning to heart. On September 28, they’ll be happily skipping golf, and walking straight from their dedicated parking spots to PTC’s private lunch on The Club at Nevillewood’s covered patio – without even thinking about keeping score!
ARPCA and Nevillewood member Dr. Jon Tucker has arranged a return trip and lunch at one of the most desirable private clubs in Pennsylvania. The Club’s picturesque, breezy veranda offers a commanding vista of the property, with a video-game view of the 18th tee and fairway that puts diners directly in the golfers’ shoes.
No expense was spared to create the Jack Nicklaus-designed course in 1992. But even non-golfers remember Nevillewood as the home of the annual Mario Lemieux Celebrity invitational, an event that drew headline athletes and entertainment figures to the area and raised millions of dollars for cancer research and patient care.
Rivaling the reputation of the course, many non-players continue to flock to the Club for its first-rate social and culinary offerings. For the PTC luncheon, the Club chef is planning a special menu with a variety of summer luncheon specialties, including a southwest chicken wrap, a signature burger and two entree salads. To facilitate meal planning, this is the only 2021 PTC destination for which advance reservations and payment are required. Your reservation will include a one-price menu with your choice of entrée, non-alcoholic beverages and desert (cash bar available). The $30 per person cost includes PTC’s usual $5.00 charitable contribution.
Participants will arrive the Club between 11:00 and 11:30 am, and will adjourn to the patio just before Noon. All ARPCA members and guests are invited, but must register by navigating to the Motorsportreg.com website.
The Porsche Touring Crew is an informal group within ARPCA that hosts social events, and is always interested in adding ARPCA members and their guests, and in finding interesting driving and dining venues. For more information contact Tom Mueller (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Wayne Desbrow (email@example.com).
NOTE: ARPCA events always start with keeping its members and attendees safe, and as such, all COVID-19 and variant precautions required by the CDC and local municipalities will be strictly observed at his event.
