Porsche Touring Crew 2025 Year-End

The Touring Crew ended the year on December 2nd with our largest lunch gathering of the year, with over 40 members present. The Teutonia Mannerchor German Club Rathskeller was a hit, with an authentic German atmosphere and a buffet of German food, including the usual selection of sausages.  We also had a special guest, Peter Sontag, President of Fastlane Travel, who gave a brief overview of what to expect on a European tour, including driving experiences and sights. He also gave tips on what it is like to drive in Germany, including its rules of the road, and how Fast Lane makes it easy and stress-free. Three couples were present who had been with Fast Lane Travel on one or more tours.

During the December meeting, we held our final Charity collection of the year for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, our charity for 2025.  With collections from all our lunches and a special gift from a friend, our group collected $4,000.00, which will be sent to our charity of the year in December 2025.  In 2026, the Touring Crew will again support a charity through voluntary donations at our lunches.  The selected charity for 2026 is “Always Smiling,” which spreads joy to people with disabilities in the Pittsburgh area through sponsored events.  Don Krewin, a regular with PTC, is active with the group. The Touring crew in 2026 has an active schedule, with monthly lunches scheduled for all months except November. Those who will be wintering in Pittsburgh are set with dates through March. On January 27th, we have a commitment from Franco’s in Bridgeville. February 24th, we are set to visit the Hartwood Restaurant in the North Hills. The first three months end on March 24th^, with a lunch at Atria’s in Peters Township. All lunches will be available for registration in Motorsportreg.com (MSR) starting January 1st.  Read the registration information and check the APRCA calendar for details. Registration for all lunches is required so the restaurant can adequately prepare for the group. As of now, none of the locations picked will require prepayment through MSR.

We hope to continue building on our 2025 success.  We get better with your suggestions for new locations and associated activities to pair with lunch.
